What happens when the kingdom comes into the world? That’s the question with which Matthew will end his gospel, the question that Jesus will answer in the great commission. That is also the question Jesus answers by the miracles he works in our text. No doubt, when Jesus gave the great commission, the disciples thought back to these events. So, what happens when the kingdom comes into the world? All authority is given to Jesus. The gospel goes to the nations. The disciples confront the power of Satan.
