Kind is a small word with a big, biblical meaning. God’s kindness is that quality of his love that caused the God who did not need us to create us and then bind himself to us, first in creation and then supremely in redemption. In the kindness of his love, God has declared quite literally that he does not want to be blessed and joyous apart from us.
