Lord’s Day Prayer
I called on the Lord in my distress; the Lord answered me and said me and abroad place. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? The Lord is for me among those who helped me; therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes. (Based on Ps 118.5-9.)
Let us worship the Triune God.
God is the Lord, and he has given us light; bind the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar. He is our God, let us praise him; he is our God, let us exalt him. (Based on Ps 118.27-28.)
Let us pray.
We extol you O God our King; we will bless your name for ever and ever, For you are great and greatly to be praised. One generation shall praise your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. We will meditate on the glorious splendor of your Majesty, and on your wondrous works. We shall speak of your goodness, and sing of your righteousness. For you are gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy. You are good to all, and your tender mercies are over all your works. We shall speak of the glory of your kingdom, and talk of your power. We shall make your mighty acts known to the sons of men, and your glorious majesty of your kingdom. For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. You open your hand and satisfied desire of every living thing. You preserve all those who love you, but all the wicked You will destroy. We worship you now, together with the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, who live and reign with you above, world without end. Amen. (Based on Ps 145.)
