Lord’s Day prayer
LORD, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. A thousand years in Your sight Are like a watch in the night, like yesterday when it is past. But we are like grass which springs up in the morning and withers in the afternoon. The days of our lives are seventy years, or perhaps eighty. What are we that You should notice us, let alone care for us? But You have loved us. You have turned your anger away from us. You have taken away our secret sins through the death and resurrection of Your only begotten Son. You have satisfied us with Your love that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. So we praise You, O God, and give You thanks. Let your beauty be upon us, and establish the work of our hands, that we would be to the praise of your glory. We worship You together with the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, who live and reign with you above, world without end. Amen.
Based on Psalm 90, as fulfilled in Christ.
